Religion stinks
Or perhaps it is our human nature that we are not only sinful, but also smelly, and therefore in need of religious perfume. There's variety when it comes to heavenly scents too. Here's some selections for men:
The Pope's Cologne: Fred Hass, a 69-year-old doctor from San Rafael, California, says that he has developed the cologne worn by Pope Pius IX (1846-1878). He concocted it from a recipe in a limited-edition 1963 cookbook, which says the recipe was passed down by the family of a member of Pius' papal guard. (The cookbook and recipe are his trade secret.) The pope likely did wear cologne, as few bathed regularly in the 19th century, but little is known about his specific scent, a scholar told the San Francisco Chronicle. Hass, a Catholic, has produced 2,000 bottles in his kitchen. He describes it as "surprisingly fresh, with notes of citrus and violet--very nice, actually."
Archangel Cologne: Metrosexuals beware--this scent is only for the manly Christian. "Man is being forcibly redefined by modern society into a simplistic, dumb and effeminate caricature of himself," their website reads. Archangel cologne is helping men fight the war on the traditional man, and smell good at the same time. And of course, real women love men who smell of traditional man.
