The Church of the Flying Spagetti Monster

What started as a response to teaching Intelligent Design in public schools has become a new online "church" community. The Church of the Flying Spagetti Monster, a spoof on religious fundamentalism, is complete with a published gospel, worship, and evangelism. In his "Open Letter to Kansas School Board," Bobby Henderson, the church's founder and prophet, asks that all theories of Intelligent Design be taught in schools, including the theory that the universe was created by the Flying Spagetti Monster. Henderson, a physics major, says he has scientific "proof" for this theory of creation, making it equal to the more commonly known theories of Intelligent Design and evolution.
