Sweet Jesus!

A 485,460-Calorie crucified Jesus gives a new meaning to consuming the Body of Christ, but the 6-foot-tall chocolate Jesus isn't just an Easter candy; it's a piece of art.

Artist Cosimo Cavallaro created the anatomically correct sculpture of Jesus Christ, naked and crucified, in milk chocolate, the Post Chronicle reports. "My Sweet Lord," as he named it, is on display in the Lab Gallery at the Roger Smith Hotel in New York (47th and Lexington Avenue) from April 1 to April 7, which is Holy Week. For New Yorkers who think chocolate is heaven-sent, it will be visible from the street from midnight to 1 a.m. and 6 to 7 p.m., when the gallery opens its velvet curtains.

Some Christians, who would prefer that this was one big April Fools joke, won't be stopping by to take a peek. Bill Donahue, the president of the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights, is heading up a boycott of the hotel and gallery, calling the art "hate speech." According to the Post Chronicle, choosing to exhibit the piece during Holy Week, Donahue said, "makes it a direct in-your-face assault on Christians."
