White lies on Easter
First it's Christmas in July and now it's Easter in November? The BBC opted to save on some production costs this year, by filming its Easter special in November along with the Christmas special.
After the Christmas editions of "Songs of Praise" was filmed in Lichfield Cathedral last year, producers switched flowers, brightened the lighting and asked the audience to take off winter coats to make the scene more spring-like, the U.K. Guardian reported. Bishop Jonathan Gledhill revealed the BBC's secret in a speech on the media.
Although they did not intend to tell viewers when it was filmed, the BBC said that viewers knew it wasn't a live performance and that it was a way of using resources better.
