What's wrong with our world?

Here are a few news stories (not exactly about Catholics or religion) that I find strange and somewhat disturbing:

1. Hooters in the Holy Land: Reuters reports that Hooters, the restaurant known for its scantily clad waitresses, will be opening a location in Tel Aviv. It won't be Kosher, but it also won't be near large religious populations. Hooters is opening 17 restaurants all around the world, probably confirming some of the negative stereotypes others hold about the United States.

2. Supercali-what?: A 13-year-old girl won $25,000 for texting "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" in 15 seconds. She says she sends 8,000 text messages a month. If each one takes an average of 10 seconds, she spends almost a day of sending text message each month. She plans to buy a lot of clothes. (I guess she's only 13, but the people who gave her $25,000 for being able to type into her phone quickly are adults!)
