In honor of all mother-in-laws

Mother's Day is a day to celebrate not only your own mother but your spouse's mother as well, like her or not. If you don't like her, perhaps the book for you is How to Survive Your In-Laws (Hundred of Heads Books). It contains advice and stories from hundreds of ordinary couples. From first impressions to religious and political arguments, the book covers the good, the bad, and the ugly (and sometimes even the comedic) of in-law interactions. It just might not make the best coffee table book, especially if the in-laws are known to drop in.

Blogging Cardinal

Cardinals can often seem to be far from or unavailable to the people in the pew, but Catholics in Boston can keep up with their Cardinal, Seán Patrick Cardinal O’Malley, at his blog: Cardinal Sean's Blog.

Cardinal Sean started the blog last fall when he went to Rome, and continues to update it every Friday, with descriptions and pictures of his official activities. This past Friday's post includes photos from his trip to Lourdes.
