2012 ‘5th Year Experience’ in Central America

Nov 30, 2012 | Centroamérica

Panamá. From October 28th to November 3rd at the ‘Monte Alverna’ retreat house in Panama City the ‘5th Year Reunion’ of Central America was held.

As the general plan of formation tells us, the young missionaries are called to discover in a new way how to be faithful to God. For this the theme of the encounter was centered on the nucleus of the ‘Patris Mei’ stage of ‘The Forge’ Project.

Fr. Gonzalo Fernández, CMF directed a day of retreat and reminded the young missionaries that the 5th Year step is a step of realism. In it the missionary gives an account of that lived through his formation was truly connected with his being or is only a mirage. From here he is challenged in the importance of making the experience of God as Father pass from superficial attitudes to the depth of his being.

From this backdrop the distinct personal and community experiences where each one of the 5th Year Missionaries live their missionary service were shared. In Central America this mission has some very distinct characteristics and great challenges for those who respond as Claretians.
