Sep 29, 2018 | 109 CMF, Catalunya

Ribera d’Ondara, Spain. With respectful silence and in the key of reconciliation, the Claretian family, a hundred and a half, including many relatives of martyrs, celebrated on the 16th of September the 75th commemoration of the Claretian Martyrs at the monument dedicated to them in Mas Claret. Since 1943, the martyrdom of the Congregation has been commemorated here uninterruptedly. This year has been the first since the beatification in October of 2017.

The celebrations began in front of the cobert del motor converted into a chapel, with a prayer for living the faith in Jesus Christ with strength, hope, peace and love. Then it was followed by the celebration of the Holy Eucharist presided by the bishop of Lleida, Msgr. Salvador Giménez, at the commemorative monument which was inaugurated in 1943 to remind the martyrs, murdered in October 1936 because of their faith.
