A Claretian in the Executive Committee of the UCESM

Belgium. The Union of the European Conferences of Major Superiors (UCESM) had its General Assembly in Torhout, from 11 to 17 of February. The representatives of the 39 Conferences of religious men and women of the 26 countries of Europe gathered for this encounter that regularly takes place every two years. It represents 400,000 religious men and women of the whole Europe. Among the invited to the Assembly were Card. Franc Rodé, Prefect of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life, the Cardinal Archbishop of Mechlin-Brussels and President of the Bishops’ Conference of Belgium and the Nuncio of His Holiness in Belgium. The Assembly has elected the new Executive Committee for the period of 2008-2012, one of whose members, as counsellor, is Fr. Mariano Sedano, cmf, missionary in Russia.
