To our Beloved Mother Congregation,
Dearest Mother,
We write to you with hearts full of gratitude. For five beautiful days, from 19 to 24 January 2026, 56 of your young sons gathered together at the Pillar Centre in Madurai. Representing the provinces of Chennai, Bangalore, St. Thomas, and Northeast India, as well as the delegations of Kolkata and Sri Lanka, we came home to rest in your embrace and renew our spirits.
We are the ones currently walking through the early years of our priesthood—two to six years into ministry. Knowing that this time comes with its own “Transitional Challenges,” the Chennai Province graciously hosted us, creating a space for us to pause, breathe, and learn.
Sitting at Your Feet
Like children eager to learn, we spent these days absorbing wisdom to serve you better:
- Learning to Lead: On the first two days, Fr. Francis Xavier SJ guided us. He showed us the face of Jesus as the true model of leadership and taught us “Human Engineering”—how to grow from “zero to hero” so we can be strong pillars for you.
- Navigating the World: We know the world is changing, Mother. Fr. Joseph Victor Dass CMF helped us look honestly at our digital lives, warning us about “digital addictions” so that our eyes remain fixed on our mission, not just on screens.
- Growing in Maturity: Fr. Paul Jayaseelan helped us understand our own hearts and minds better, guiding us through the topic of psychosexual maturity so we can love and serve with healthy, undivided hearts.
Sharing as Brothers: One of the most special moments was when we simply sat together and opened our hearts. Initiated by Fr. Jesu Doss CMF, we shared our light-hearted moments, our confusions, and our new beginnings. It wasn’t just a meeting; it was a family gathering where we felt the warmth of brotherhood.
Deepening Our Vows: Fr. John Paul CMF deepened our roots by guiding us through the “Biblical Understanding of Religious Commitment”. He offered us a profound scriptural foundation to help us remain faithful and true to you.
We also felt the spirit of your mission as Fr. Jesu Raj CMF shared his experiences from East Africa.
We also took time to laugh and relax, visiting the historical site of Keeladi, and sumptuous dinner at Claret House, Kochadai which refreshed us.
Returning with New Strength: On the final day, Fr. S. Stanislaus CMF gave us a parting lesson using the story of a woodcutter. He reminded us that to work well for you, we must constantly stop to “sharpen the axe” of our spiritual lives.
We return to our missions now, not just as individuals, but as your renewed sons—sharpened, strengthened, and ready to serve you with zeal.
With love,
Your Sons
