A New Evangelizing Style for the Americas

Jan 22, 2013 | Colombia - Venezuela

Medellín, Colombia. On January 15, 2013, at Villa Claret (El Picacho) in Medellín, a group of missionaries gathered together from 10 Claretian Provinces of the Americas: Brazil, Central America, Colombia-Venezuela, Colombia East y Ecuador, Antillas, México, USA, Perú-Bolivia, San José del Sur, Canadá and the Misión of North Potosí (Euskalerría), accompanied by Fr. Migel angel Velasco, CMF, (General Prefect of the Apostolate).

Among the participants were 32 priests and 1 Claretian brother, together with 8 laity who collaborate with them in distinct areas of the ministry.

Responding to the proposal of the General Prefect of the Apostolate to place the whole Congregation into a state of reflection by means of the Interprovincial Conferences, the participants went to work in discerning “shared mission”, missionary options for a new missionary project for the Americas and for the whole Congregation.

The work for this week revolved around: our Claretian missionary style, lines of action, and strategic positions.

Micla2_WThis is an attempt to discern how to position our mission in the future to be able to respond as a Missionary Congregation to the new challenges that the world and the Church present to us.
