Andacollo, Chile. Under the sponsorship of the Teck Mining Company of Andacollo, an activity pertaining to the Environment is being carried out at the Parish School of Andacollo run by the Claretian Missionaries. All of the students and personnel are being given a tree with the personal commitment to maintain its care.

The principal objective is to deepen and value of the importance of protecting the environment, discovering it in life, the most pure manifestation of the presence of God.

The students received with gratitude and curiosity those species known only by name in the community as the quillay, boldo, peumo y maitén. It is hoped that in this manner a consciousness will be created in families for the care of the flora and fauna in this region.
