Colombia. During the last ten days of August, our communities in Barranquilla, Medellín and Cali (Colombia West) held brainstorming sessions on vocational ministry.
Organized by the vocational ministry team of the province, the event was intended for male and female religious, priests and lay people, who are already engaged in fostering vocations, for the purpose of sharing information and encouraging one another. The gathering marked the beginning a Vocational Year, to run in tandem with the celebration of the bicentennial of the birth of Fr. Claret. Fr. Juan Carlos Martos, secretary general for vocational ministry, was responsible for the program.
All the sessions attracted a large number of participants, very concerned and enthusiastic about this field of ministry that continues to present serious challenges. Of course, the outcome is in the hands of the Lord, who must draw to himself all those chosen. We pray that he will continue to bless us with many vocations, who will keep alive in the world the missionary charism of our Founder.
