Jul 12, 2022 | Fr. Rhoel Gallardo, Youth & Vocations Ministry

Tungawan, Philippines. Continuing the celebration of the 75th year of the Claretian Presence in the Philippines, from July 2 to 6, 2022, the Claret Youth Camp 2022 of the Claretian Missionaries of Fr. Rhoel Gallardo Province unraveled at the San Roque Parish, Tungawan, Zamboanga Sibugay Province. Grounded on Fr. Rhoel Gallardo and St. Anthony Mary Claret’s passion for the mission, one hundred seventy-nine (179) Claretian youth from all over the archipelago have commemorated their life and martyrdom with this camp’s theme, “Claret Youth Ministry (CYM): Going Forth!”.

The participants received a series of sessions and activities rooted in its theme of discipleship and evangelization. Claretianism was emphasized through four different sessions: “Claret’s Mission in the Bible” shared by Fr. Alex Gobin, CMF and Fr. Jay Coching, CMF, “Claretian Spirituality and Fr. Rhoel Gallardo, CMF’s journey as a Claretian Martyr” with Fr. Ama Tumbaga, CMF as the speaker, and “Claretian Mission” given by Fr. Educ Apangan, CMF. One of the novelties of this year’s camp is the pocket session that introduced six (6) different sessions simultaneously, namely Leadership given by Fr. Martin Ele, CMF, Photography by Fr. Arvin Bellen, CMF, Social Communication by Fr. Jay Coching, CMF Vocation Discernment by Sr. Jo-ann Perio-Perio Bulay-OG, MC, Performing Arts by Mark Fontanilla, and Liturgical Music by Ted Anderson Jao – these sessions have highlighted the different skills that the youth possess and how each can be put into use in their respective communities and Youth Ministries.

In 2023, the Claret Youth Camp is scheduled to set sail to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Quezon City.
