Apr 23, 2010 | Centroamérica, Health Care

La Ceiba, Honduras. At midnight of Wednesday 21, some assailants violently burst into the house of the Claretian community of La Ceiba, in Honduras.

The assailants wanted to batter down the room doors by kicking at them, but they were able to do it only in the room of Fr. Eduardo Coto.

Father Coto was brutally beaten. Because of the traumatisms, he was hospitalized and will have to undergo surgery. Apart from that, his state of mind is positive.

The other members of the community got only a scare.

This is only an example of the violence caused by the political and economic crisis which is daily hitting the inhabitants, especially in Honduras.
