Claretian Inheritance in China

Dec 1, 2011 | East Asia, Parish Ministry, The Claretian Mission

Huangshan, China. The Claretian Missionaries were established in China in 1927 in the beautiful city of Huangshan at the side of the famous Yellow Mountains, one of the wonders of the world.

There a small Christian community began to grow. All the missionaries had to leave in 1950, but the seed of faith continued growing. Today there now exists a group of Christians linked to that heritage.

China_Temple_1With the help of a Claretian 20 years ago, a small church was constructed. The expansion of the city required the destruction of this church and the building of a new one. In the photos one can view the groundbreaking and the blessing by the Bishop.

The new church will be completed at the end of 2012.
