Nov 3, 2020 | Antillas, Youth & Vocations Ministry

Antilles. Last weekend, between Saturday, October 31 and Sunday, November 1, 2020, the Claretian youth communities of Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic held their national youth encounters for 2020. Both encounters in the context of the 150th anniversary of the Easter of Fr. Claret, and celebrated in different modalities, have allowed to rekindle the accompaniment to the new generations, to continue sowing hope and enabling paths of openness to God’s project in their lives.

The youth communities of the Dominican Republic, accompanied by Fr. Rubén Dide Sylvestre, in charge of Vincentian Youth Ministry in the Dominican Republic, met on the afternoon of Saturday, October 31, in a virtual modality through the Zoom platform. The Claretian Family experience was conducted under the motto: “Connected by Jesus” and offered the possibility of sharing as brothers, gifts and talents through artistic presentations made by the young people themselves, songs, rallies and a beautiful moment of deep prayer. Some 155 young people from the different missionary fronts of the country participated: Santo Domingo, Puerto Plata, Jimaní and San Francisco de Macorís. Throughout the meeting, the joy of meeting each other was palpable and, above all, it was very evident that they have not lost the hope of meeting their brothers and sisters and Jesus himself.
