Jun 5, 2020 | Claretian Family, Congregation, General Government

Rome, Italy. On June 4, 2020, at the General Curia in Rome, the traditional meeting of CMF and RMI General Governments finally took place after its postponement in March caused by the pandemic lockdown in Italy.

A sharing of experiences during the lockdown caused by the pandemic fronted the brief afternoon meeting, followed by an exchange of information regarding the main activities of each government. They talked on the XXVI General Chapter preparations; online courses; Sr. Jolanta Maria Kafka, RMI’s heading of the International Union of General Superiors (UISG); webinars; RMI’s shared formative mission with lay and religious; Laudato Si’ initiatives; and the state of the film on Claret.

Later on, Dehonian Bishop of the Diocese of Farafangana in Madagascar, Msgr. Gaetano Di Pierro, SCI, joined them. He described in detail some of the ecclesial, human, social situations of Madagascar in general and of the Diocese of Farafangana in particular. His presentation brought forth dialogue on the expectations of an evangelizing, missionary, and pastoral Claretian presence in the said Diocese.

The meeting ended with a prayer at the Chapel-Museum, followed by a dinner with the General Curia Community.
