Ibadan, Nigeria. The Claretian Missionaries of the West Nigeria Delegation held their 7th Delegation Assembly from June 30 to July 5, 2025, bringing together members in a spirit of fraternity and renewal. The event served as a platform to reflect on the Delegation’s journey, reinforce the bonds of apostolic life, and chart a course for the future under the theme “Consolidating Our Claretian Apostolic Community Living.”
Throughout the week-long gathering, participants engaged in dynamic discussions, strategic planning sessions, and formative workshops. The Assembly focused on strengthening community life, deepening missionary identity, and fostering collaboration in response to current pastoral realities. It was a time marked by prayer, discernment, and shared commitment to the Congregation’s vision and values.
A significant highlight of the Assembly was the appointment of the new Delegation Government. Fr Augustine Medaiyedu, CMF, was named the Major Superior. He will be supported by a team of consultors: Frs Gregory Ezeokeke, Roland Onuekwesi, Jude Dominic Igba, and Fr John Achi, CMFF, who will also serve as the Major Econome. Their mandate is to lead the Delegation in fidelity to the Claretian charism and in service to the mission.

The Assembly culminated in a solemn Eucharistic celebration at 6:30 AM on July 5, where delegates entrusted the fruits of their deliberations to the Lord. The closing Mass provided a spiritually uplifting conclusion, sending the members forth with renewed zeal and a clearer sense of purpose in their missionary endeavors.
