Mary as Queen
\nClaret realizes that he cannot find words to praise who is \u201cmy all, after Jesus\u201d (Aut 5). That\u2019s why he turns to these comparisons to try to see almost infinite horizons. More Grace than all the saints and angels together. This assertion is not new; it agrees with the observation of Origen (3rd century) that the angel\u2019s greeting \u201cfull of grace\u201d will never be given to a human being and is not found in any other part of Sacred Scripture. The Experts tell us that \u201cfull of grace\u201d can be translated by \u201cloved by God\u201d. And it is a title expressed in the passive voice, but a \u201cpassivity\u201d that implies her free consent and becomes fully active in Mary expressing her availability without conditions.
\nClaret offers a curious explanation as to why the outpouring of grace that the Father gives to the chosen Mother of the Word. I say it was curious for me: \u201cIf she was to be the Queen of the angels and saints she had to have more Grace than all of them\u201d.
\nBut what I now want to emphasize is that she is not only Queen because she has more Grace than everybody else, but also because she exercises her authority for the good of her children. This is confirmed with the revelations of a mystic of the 17th century, the Venerable Maria de Jesus de \u00c1greda. In her work, widely read by Claret – Mystical City of God, book 7 Ch. 10, she describes in detail the care and attention with which Mary, as a mother, lived the first journeys of the disciples of her Son to proclaim the Good News: \u201cThe great lady, from the vantage point of her exalted wisdom, reaching everywhere, and as most watchful sentinel discovered the snares of Lucifer and came to the aid of her children. And when the apostles were absent and she could not speak to them, she then sent those she knew to be afflicted to his holy angels to assist them, so that they console and encourage them, they would warn them and sometimes chase away the demons that were following them\u201d She is Queen not to show off, but to express her powerful protection.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
