Wulai, Taiwan. From July 24 to 29, 2018 EAST ASIA Delegation held a youth encounter in Wulai, Taiwan under the theme “Living out the Joy of the Gospel in Diversity.” This theme was in fact the continuation of the theme of the 2nd AEYG-2017 “Be Witnesses and Messengers of the Joy of the Gospel”. Forty five participants from, Hong Kong, Macau, China, Japan and Taiwan attended the youth gathering in Wulai. In spite of the language barriers and cultural differences, the enthusiasm and energy that emerged during the encounter really united the whole group into a clan of young people walking in the same road of living out the joy of the Gospel in diversity. During the encounter, East Asia Delegation Major Superior, Fr. Francisco Carin, CMF, together with PK and John enlightened the young people with their animation talks on the topics: “What is the real joy in the life of a true Christian?”; “What are the means to live out joy of the Gospel in the present society and Joy in the life of Young Claret?”
The main objective that we wanted to attain through this youth encounter was “to encourage the youth people lead a joyful Christian life and practice the joy of the Gospel in the present society by being a living witness of it.” The youth encounter come to an end with a mission sending ceremony which instilled in the heart of many young people the seed of Christian joy which will encourage this young ones to be channel of God’s love and compassion in wherever they are and whatever they do.
The Youth Commission is thankful to the East Asian Delegate Major Superior and all the council members and the Claretian Community in Taiwan for their encouragement and support to hold this first East Asia Delegation Youth Encounter 2018.
