Negombo, Sri Lanka. The Claretians of Sri Lanka and India (ASCLA West Conference) gathered for a transformative workshop titled “Claretian Discerning Leadership” from the 2nd to the 7th of October 2023, at the serene Pastures Spirituality Center in Bolawalana, Negombo, Sri Lanka.
This workshop, part of a series organized throughout the Congregation, aimed to foster a culture of discernment among Claretians worldwide. It brought together 25 participants, representing various regions: 13 from St. Joseph Vaz Independent Delegation – Sri Lanka, 3 from Bangalore Province, 2 from Chennai Province, 2 from St. Thomas Province, 2 from Northeast India Independent Delegation, and 3 from Kolkata Independent Delegation.
The facilitators, Fr. L. Anthony CMF (Kolkata Delegation), Fr. Jaison Perumpalliolickal CMF (Northeast India Delegation), and Fr. Michael Plamparampil CMF (St. Thomas Province), guided the participants through nine modules, with three delivered online and six conducted during the onsite workshop in Negombo.
The inaugural Mass, a spiritually significant event, was presided over by the Major Superior of St. Joseph Vaz Independent Delegation, Fr. Joseph Jeyaseelan CMF. The Superior General, Fr. Mathew Vattamattam CMF, delivered an online session on the workshop’s final day, addressing participants’ questions and concerns.
