Jul 13, 2025 | Chapters & Assemblies, Cameroun

Buea, Cameroon. The Cameroon Independent Delegation of the Claretian Missionaries held its Fifth Ordinary Assembly from June 29 to July 4, 2025, at the Pius Awa Pastoral Centre in Buea. Gathering 71 participants, the Assembly served as a moment of evaluation, reflection, and renewal after three years of missionary journey guided by a common “dream” design.

Under the guidance of Fr. Manuel Tamargo, CMF, the assembly revisited and refined its pastoral strategies, seeking to energize the delegation’s mission and highlight shared priorities. The opening recollection centered on the theme of hope, emphasizing the call to build a fraternity without borders that fosters reconciliation and peace. The meditations invited members to place hope at the heart of their missionary dynamism.

A key highlight of the Assembly was the announcement of the new government by the General Econome, warmly welcomed by the assembly in an atmosphere of joy and thanksgiving. The newly constituted team reflects both a near-complete renewal and an expansion in line with Chapter orientations.

Fr. Elisée Abe Ananga, CMF, was appointed as the new Major Superior. He will be assisted by four consultors: Fr. Dieudonné Ngenso, CMF, Fr. Honoré Kenfack, CMF, Fr. Conrad Atangana, CMF, and Fr. Moïse Moumassou, CMF. The presence of five members instead of the previous four reflects the growing needs and vitality of the Delegation.

The Assembly concluded with renewed missionary zeal and a strengthened sense of fraternity, committing the Delegation to a future rooted in hope, peace, and reconciliation.
