Krakow, Poland. Forty-one Claretians ordained in the last decade gathered in Krakow from 20 to 23 November 2025 for the Decenio programme, focusing on the intersection of mission and modern technology. The event, hosted by the Province of Poland, aimed to deepen ongoing formation and strengthen collaboration among European provinces.
The biennial Decenio meeting, coordinated by Fr. Maxim Muñoz, CMF, prefect of formation of the Province of Sanctus Paulus, welcomed prefects of formation from across Europe to accompany participants in their ongoing formation. The opening day included a poignant visit to the Auschwitz concentration camp, coinciding with the 80th anniversary of its liberation. This experience offered a moment for reflection on human suffering and the Congregation’s commitment to promoting human dignity and hope through the Gospel.
The formation sessions focused on “The impact of new technologies on our missionary life,” guided by Fr. José Enrique García Rizo, CMF. Using the see-judge-act method, participants explored how digitalisation affects personal, spiritual, communal, and apostolic dimensions of Claretian life. Discussions highlighted the challenges of managing technology responsibly, noting risks to daily rhythms, inner life, and missionary focus. Participants emphasized the importance of mutual support within communities to foster mindful and mission-oriented use of digital tools, sharing practical strategies for balanced integration.
Small-group dialogues allowed missionaries to exchange experiences from community life, provincial initiatives, and apostolic work. These conversations generated proposals for future Decenio editions, aimed at enhancing formation and fostering stronger interprovincial collaboration. The meeting was marked by a strong fraternal spirit, nurtured through shared prayer and liturgical celebrations organized by different provinces.
The Krakow Decenio reaffirmed its role as a vital space for spiritual, human, and missionary growth among the new generation of Claretians in Europe, combining reflective depth with fraternal solidarity and practical insights for living mission in the digital age.
