FUCLA Collaborates With Education in Quibdó

Quibdó, Colombia. On February 4, 2013, the Claretian University Foundation (FUCLA), headed by its President, Fr. José Agustín Monroy Palacio CMF, presented Dr. Zulia Mena, Mayor of Quibdó, a document entitled “Intercultural and Multilingual Public Educational Policy in the Municipality of Quibdó”.

The document, which had been commissioned to FUCLA, was exalted by the Mayor of Quibdó. She stressed the work done by the Claretian University and the Group of experts on educational issues. The Mayor reiterated that the philosophical and theoretical foundations of the Educational Policy are a quantum leap for the transformation of the educational awareness of Chocó. The document helps to renew and contextualize the educational structures of Quibdó, characterized by its roots mixed indigenous and Afro roots.

In order to make the document known, the mayor summoned together all the secretaries of government of the mayoralty for February 7, 2013. All the participants showed their pleasure for the proposal and highlighted the importance of spreading it to all the educational institutions of the municipality, including the teachers, students and parents.
