Boryslav, Ukraine. Here is the latest update from Tadeusz Lihs, CMF, on the humanitarian aid that the Claretians are doing in Ukraine and Poland:

We offer more news from Ukraine, in particular the aid provided in the third humanitarian transport to Boryslav and Truskavets on May 2 and 3, 2022.
This time the main aid was to equip the Borislav municipal hospital. The situation in this hospital is tragic compared to the conditions in European hospitals: lack of basic medical equipment for surgery and rehabilitation, even lack of anesthesia. Sanitary conditions are below all standards. No bedding, furniture, beds, etc. But the wounded soldiers are full of enthusiasm and optimism and very grateful for the help they have received.

All the equipment we purchased is new. The following items were purchased: an operating table with orthopedic accessories, upper and lower extremity orthoses, an ultrasound machine, a patient monitor, an electrocardiography machine, a coagulation machine, protective gowns, and goggles, X-ray gloves, bandages, painkillers, and anesthetics. All this equipment was purchased for 38,500 euros. In addition, we contributed food and items for the army: tactical gloves, gas burners, mats, and socks for a total of about 12,000 euros.

In Poland, we helped refugees from Ukraine, i.e. families from Łódź, Wrocław, and Warsaw (50 families), by purchasing food, chemicals, clothing, bedding, medicines, and hairdressing services, totaling about €9,000.

In the near future, we plan to purchase a van for the school, which currently serves as a shelter for orphans from two orphanages relocated from eastern Ukraine.

Thank you all again, because thanks to you we are able to help those in need and those affected by the current war in Ukraine. Please remember also in your prayers all those who suffer and also us – for strength, health, and wisdom so that our help will be effective for soul and body.

Thank you very much!
Tadeusz Lihs, CMF
