ICL-Sanyasa holds the 22nd Annual Seminar on Consecrated Life

Bengaluru, India. To mark the Day of Consecrated Life, the Institute of Consecrated Life – SANYASA (ICLS), Bengaluru, held its 22 nd Annual Seminar on Saturday, February 7, 2026, on the theme “From Dilexit Nos to Dilexi Te: I Love, Because I Am Loved.” The Seminar read the two magisterial documents together from the perspective of a life of consecration and was attended by some 250 consecrated men and women.

In his inaugural address, Rev. Fr. Jose Cristo Rey Garcia Paredes, CMF, invited everyone to “return to the heart.” Dwelling on the document Dilexit Nos, Rev. Fr. Shyam Prasad, FdCC, the major superior of the Canossian Sons of Charity in India, spoke on how we must delight in the Lord who delights in us. Refracting the theme of Dilexi Te, Rev. Fr. Selvaraj Arulnathan, SJ, director of the Indian Social Institute highlighted the plight of the poor and the marginalized in India and how the consecrated persons must bring God’s love into their lives. Later in the day, the three speakers formed part of the panel that answered the questions from the audience.

To facilitate the participation of the formation houses, a poster presentation contest was held in which eight communities participated. The seminar was concluded with the Holy Eucharist, presided over by Rev. Fr. Anthony Swamy, SAC, the president of the Bengaluru Chapter of the Conference of Religious India.
