Fr. Joseph Koonamparampil, CMF receives the prestigious medal “Croce pro Ecclesia et Pontifice”

Rome, Italy. The Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples desired to recognize and distinguish Fr. Joseph Koonamparampil CMF on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of his First Religious Profession and after twenty years of work in the aforementioned Congregation with which he continues to collaborate.

The ceremony of awarding the insignia of honor was preceded by the Prefect of the Congregation, Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle. This medal was introduced by Pope Leo XIII on July 17, 1888 with the Apostolic Letter Quod Singulari Dei Concessu, to commemorate his fiftieth anniversary of priesthood. It is now conferred both on lay people (men and women) and on ecclesiastics who distinguish themselves by their fidelity and service to the Church.

We congratulate our confrere, Fr. Joseph Koonamparampil, CMF, and his community of the Juridicum, with whom he is celebrating this joyous event!
