MISSIONARY VOLUNTEERING
Claretian missionary volunteering is an experience for young people who want to set out on a journey, encounter diverse realities, and allow themselves to be transformed by them. The service we promote emphasizes sharing life, learning from people, and collaborating in processes that promote dignity, justice, and hope.
It is designed for young people aged 18 to 30, as well as for PJV leaders and adults who want to live their faith in a committed and missionary way. Each person contributes what they are and what they know, and at the same time receives much more than they imagine: working as a team, in dialogue with the missionary communities of destination.
There are different ways to participate:
- Local or international volunteering
- Short or longer experiences
- Professional or digital support
- Community accompaniment
- Social, educational, or awareness-raising action.
Missionary volunteering is proposed as a personal and communal path of welcome, encounter, growth, and commitment in which we learn from one another while playing a leading role. It is also a path of listening, discernment, and prayer that gives meaning to everything we can translate into concrete plans of action and services.
The words and actions of Jesus, the missionary example of Claret, the calls of the Church, the cry of the impoverished who seek justice, as well as that of creation that longs to be liberated, guide our work and commitment to God’s mission in the world. We want to respond with fidelity and dedication. We are disciples on a journey together with others who are setting the world on fire by creating more humane and evangelical spaces of life, where there is room for everyone.
If you feel the desire to serve, to commit yourself, and to discover how your life can be transformed into a gift for others, missionary volunteering could be a first concrete step toward living your faith with your feet planted in reality and your heart open to the world.
