‘Multi-Use Center’ for Children and Youth in Panamá

Metetí, Panamá. The Foundation “Sembradores de Esperanza” [Sowers of Hope] with the collaboration of the NGO “Manos Unidos” [Hands United] of Spain, has opened a ‘Multi-Use Center’ in Metetí, in the zone of Darién, which offers the children, youth, and the people of this zone an opportunity for learning, culture, and entertainment.

The Foundation “Sembradores de Esperanza” is coordinated by the lay Claretian, Carmen Badía, who is accompanied in this work by some teachers from Colegio La Salle and Fr. Vicente Sidera, CMF.

For 15 years the Foundation has offered educational scholarships for children in vulnerable situations. Thanks to this there are currently 108 children and youth taking courses in the primary and basic levels.

The opening ceremony was attended by Bishop Pedro Hernández, CMF, Bishop of Darien, representatives of government agencies, grantees, other Claretians, and members of the Foundation.
