National Gathering of the Lay Claretians of Congo

Kinshasa, Dem. Rep. Congo. The 2nd General Assembly of the Lay Claretians in Congo took place from June 28 to July 1, 2018 at the Marianist community located on 3rd Street Limete, Kinshasa, capital of the DR. Congo. It was attended by the members from Isingu, Kikwit, Kindi, Kinshasa and Pay-Kongila. At the beginning, Frs. Robert Ndjoli, CMF, the National Chaplain, Rodolphe Mukusa, CMF, Congo Independent Delegation Representative, delivered their welcome and opening addresses respectively. The outgoing National Coordinator, Mr. Daniel Ubanga, also addressed the whole assembly. Then they have chosen the moderators and the secretary for the said meeting.

Guided meditations on the Word of God, reports from the different delegations and from the national level, as well as on shared missions, took place during these thee intensive work days. One thing particular of this 2nd General Assembly is the complete representation of the Claretian Family. The Assembly elected its new national officials: Mrs. Christine Yangunde – National Coordinator; Mr. Jean Mbo – Assistant National Coordinator; Mrs. Cyprien Mandjan and Narcisse Moke – National Secretaries; Catherine Samba and Patience Muhau – National Treasurers; and Mrs. Rita Kompani, Fr. Jean Paul Nkosi, CMF, Sisters Agnès Matesu, RMI, Jacqueline Mafula, RMI, Clémence Matesu, RMI, and Mr. Daniel Ubanga – National Formators.

The meeting ended on July 01, 2018 with the Eucharistic celebration presided over by Fr. Joseph Mbungu, Delegate Superior of the Congo Independent delegation, and concelebrated by Fathers Robert Ndjoli and Jean Paul Nkosi, CMFF.
