On Wednesday, October 29, 2025, the General Government met with the Major Superiors of the Congregation in an online meeting. After the usual pleasantries, a prayer opened the meeting followed by some technical indications of the mode of proceeding. General consultor, Br. Carlos Verga, who moderated the meeting gave an overview of the meeting, its primary objective, and situated it within the General Government plans of the sexennium.
The Superior General, Fr. Mathew Vattamattam welcomed the participants, particularly the new major superiors. The first part of the meeting began with the presentation of themes led by Fr. General and interspersed with the intervention of each of the General Consultors. Most of the themes tackled were culled not only from the recent periodic reports of major superiors around the world but also from the synthesis of animation and the canonical visits. This included themes like universal mission, interculturality course, the sharing of goods, the final document of the Spirituality Congress, the contextualization of formation and safe environment, to name a few.
There was also a presentation by the General Mission Procure about the current state of its operation, some expectations, and its identity. After the presentations, major superiors went to share in small break-up groups about their impressions of the presented reports, raised some questions and suggestions were offered to further improve the animation of the entire Congregation. The latter part of the meeting included announcements, practical and organizational concerns. Special mention given was given to the upcoming encounter of major superiors in Sri Lanka in March 2026 preparatory for the next General Chapter in 2027. The meeting concluded with final remarks from Fr. General and a closing prayer. The meeting was evaluated positively by the Superiors as it also offered some moment of dialogue in response to some questions and suggestions raised.
