Pastoral and Missionary Conversion: Formation Meeting of Missionary Centers

Mar 12, 2026 | Colombia - Venezuela, Ongoing Formation

Medellín, Colombia. On March 6, 2026, the Animación Pastoral Parroquial of the Province Colombia–Venezuela organized an online formation meeting on “Pastoral and Missionary Conversion.” The gathering brought together Claretian missionaries and lay collaborators from various missionary centers—parishes, schools, the university, evangelization centers, and Hogares Claret—within the framework of the Provincial Missionary Life Plan 2022–2027.

The meeting was coordinated by Fr. Elber Montero, CMF, who emphasized the importance of strengthening missionary identity through shared reflection and formation. The main presentation was given by Fr. Anselmus Baru, CMF, Prefect of Apostolate, who reflected on the call to pastoral and missionary conversion inspired by Evangelii Gaudium of Pope Francis.

Participants reflected on the need to move beyond a model of simple administration toward a missionary Church that goes forth, attentive to the realities and cultures of the people. The dialogue highlighted the importance of the Word of God, mission shared with the laity, and pastoral structures that foster encounter, listening, and accompaniment.

The meeting concluded by reaffirming the commitment of the Province to continue promoting missionary renewal in its pastoral and evangelizing work.
