Perpetual vows, a gift that seals a life of dedication

El Salvador. On November 15, 2025, at the Heart of Mary Parish, Gilmer Sánchez Chán, CMF, professed his perpetual vows during a celebration presided over by Fr. Mauricio Salvador Borge, CMF, Provincial Superior of Centroamérica. The event brought together family members, religious, and faithful who accompanied him in this definitive step of his missionary vocation.

Sánchez Chán, CMF shared that his formative journey has been illuminated by the verse

“Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening,”

an experience that has helped him recognize God’s grace at work in his life. He affirmed that his perpetual profession is a true gift, expressing gratitude to God, to the Church, and to the Congregation that has supported and guided him.

The newly professed expressed his appreciation for all who have been part of his path, especially his community brothers, emphasizing that religious life is built in fraternity. He stated that he feels sent as a listener and servant of the Word, ready to evangelize and contribute to the common good. Finally, he asked for the grace to live his vocation with fidelity and joy, inspired by the testimony of the Claretian martyrs.
