Rome, Italy. The film “Claret” about the Father and Founder of our Congregation will be premiered on June 24, 2021, at the Cinema Farnese, in Campo di’ Fiori, Rome. The film, which has already closed its release in several countries in Europe (Spain and France) and Latin America, will be distributed by PROJECT FILM, is a production of Contracorriente Producciones – Three Columns Entertainment and the Claretian Family, who are working together again after the success of the film UN DIOS PROHIBIDO (2013).

At the papal audience yesterday, June 23, Pope Francis personally greeted Cardinal Aquilino Bocos Merino, CMF and the director of the film, Pablo Moreno who gifted him a copy on Blu-ray disc.

The film is set in 1930, when the writer and intellectual Azorín discovered a hoax that had been propagated for almost sixty years: the life and works of the Spanish Archbishop Antonio María Claret, founder of the Claretian Missionaries, had been adulterated.

“Claret”, based on real facts, uncovers the path of this investigation that leads to know the history, thought and authentic facts that led to the action of the one who was archbishop of Cuba and later, confessor of Queen Isabel II.
