Praying with Mary in the midst of the pandemic

May 3, 2021 | Parish Ministry, Santiago

The Province of Santiago seconds the call of Pope Francis for this month of May

Madrid, Spain. The Claretian Missionaries of the Province of Santiago animate several Marian shrines; they run two schools and a dozen churches and parishes consecrated to the Heart of Mary. Many of their other parishes bear the name of Mary (del Espino, de la Aurora, de las Angustias, de los Angeles, del Carmen, de la Fuensanta, de las Mercedes…).

The Claretians of this province have organized themselves to welcome the call of Pope Francis to pray with Mary this month of May asking for the end of the pandemic and remembering every day one of the groups that suffer most from it (sick, health, unemployed, elderly, migrants). The prayer Will be accompanied dozens of initiatives of online announcements and celebrations, food collection, job placement, Caritas services and social assistance, hours of listening and accompaniment, which have occupied them since the outbreak of COVID-19. Praying and serving, a good program for a month with Mary; indeed!
