Quinquennium Encounter 2025 in Venezuela: Renewal in Mission

Aug 25, 2025 | Ongoing Formation

Casacoima, Venezuela. From August 18 to 21, 2025, the Claretian Missionary house of El Triunfo hosted the Quinquennium Encounter of the Colombia-Venezuela Province. In an atmosphere of fraternity and prayer, young missionaries deepened their formation and commitment to the Claretian charism.

The gathering opened with a reflection led by Fr. Yemir Cuesta, CMF, and was accompanied by the Provincial Animation Team: Fr. Anselmus Baru, CMF, Fr. Néstor Calderón, CMF, and Bro. Jhon Jairo Flórez, CMF. The central theme, leadership in a synodal key, invited participants to discern how they live their service in mission, highlighting shared responsibility, the joy of evangelization, and the call to form new leaders.

Pastoral visits to the communities of Los Castillos and Sierra Imataca allowed participants to accompany families, visit the sick, and celebrate the Eucharist, embodying the missionary spirit close to the people. Messages from Fr. David Tapias, CMF, Fr. Armando Valencia, CMF, and Fr. Víctor Manuel Fontalvo, CMF encouraged them to live their vocation with joy and creativity.

The encounter concluded with a sending Eucharist in Sierra Imataca, entrusting the missionaries’ journey to Mary and affirming this time as one of grace and renewal.
