Recognition to the Claretian education in Trujillo

Peru. On the occasion of our Golden Anniversary educating with the Gospel and in the style of Saint Anthony Mary Claret, we have been congratulated as an Educative Community, which has singularly contributed to the ennoblement and the development of man and the society with the Educative Doctrine of the Church.

On December 19, in the closing ceremony of the academic year 2009, the Regional Government of Liberty granted us the Medal of the Region in the highest distinction, through a Resolution approved in a Council Session signed by its President Eng. José Murgia Zanier.

Fr. Eleuterio Pineda Mosquera, CMF received, in an applauded act, this so important recognition, granted to an educative institution of the Church in Trujillo. He expressed his gratitude upon receiving the Víctor Raúl Haya de la Torre Medal, as homage to the Claretian and educating missionaries by whose dedication and sacrifice we are able to inherit such an emblematic history, infrastructure and spirit in the Region and in Peru.

The Consortium of Catholic Educative Centres of Peru, in the same ceremony, gave a reminder that recognizes and is thankful for the distinguished and truly exemplary educative and evangelizing labour of the Claretian Missionaries in the Spring Capital City.

The Provincial Municipality of Trujillo grants us the Medal of the City in its highest degree, for the educative contribution to the city and to the country. The award was given in a Solemn Session because on the anniversary of the Proclamation of the Freedom of Trujillo, on December 29, and this was the only awarded entity in such a traditional and historic act.

Fr. Anthony Mansen Bellina, CMF, Sub director, representing the Fr. Director, received so high a recognition and thanked the Chapter and authorities for the Medal and the Resolution of the Town Hall, stressing that during the 100 years of the presence of the Claretian Missionaries in Peru, they have been 95 in Trujillo: 45 in the Seminary of Saint Charles and Saint Marcelino and 50 in the Claretian School. A particular mention was made of the former students who were present as authorities. Present were also former and actual professors, parents and former students.

The Congress of the Republic also, at the request of its President, Dr. Luis Alva Castro, granted us the Motion of Congratulation by the Entire Congress of the Republic of Peru last October 22. Through the 1027-2009-2010-DP-M/CR Office, Fr. Eleuterio Pineda Mosquera, CMF was informed of this recognition, to be applied to the entire teaching staff, employees, parents and students.
