Oct 27, 2021 | ACLA, Anniversaries, Apostolate, Cameroun, Parish Ministry

Yaounde, Cameroon. Joy, dancing, and euphoria filled the atmosphere of Nkolemombo vicinity as Saint Anthony Mary Claret Parish celebrated her silver jubilee. Father Hugo Ruiz 25 years ago founded this mission which the archbishop handed over to Claretian Missionaries. After some years of administration, the diocesans continued administering the church. However, in the year 2009, claretian missionaries took up the service in the parish again.

To celebrate this day, the Claretian Missionaries as well as the lay claretians joined with the Christian Faithful to thank God Almighty for the solid faith, rooted in the Gospel and in our Claretian Lifestyle. In his homily, the Major Superior of Cameroon, Father Jude Thaddeus Langeh, cmf, after giving a brief biography of Saint Claret, proceeded to invite all present to imitate the saint’s lifestyle. He invited the parishioners as well as claretian confreres to always be rooted in a life of prayer and be audacious in their missionary zeal.

To grace this occasion, 20 claretian students were instituted lectors and acolytes. In the same light, Moise Moumassou, cmf renewed his vows. Lay Claretians also renewed their commitment to serve the church and admitted new members to the movement. The members of Saint Anthony Mary Claret Parish Choir also blessed their new uniform.

After mass, the Major Superior inaugurated the Claret Youth Training Centre of Emombo. The parish benefited from a computer literacy project financed by PROCLADE. He also visited the new parish site and prayed for a success in the implementation of the Church Building project.

The day ended with a fraternal meal amidst music and dancing.
