Sternsinger on behalf of Claretian projects

Jan 7, 2009 | Claretian Family, JPIC

Germany. The work of the Missionary Childhood of Germany, called there Sternsinger, based in Aquisgrán (Aachen), with more than 50 years of existence, presents a nice and effective way of gathering funds, whose tens of millions of euros raised are destined to projects of aid to children that suffer in the different continents. From the beginning of the year and around the festivity of the Epiphany the children of the parishes go singing from house to house, dressed as the Magi; they bless the houses and write on the doors the following key < 20 C+M+B 09 > (Christus Mansionem Benedicat 2009) (May Christ Bless this House 2009).
It is a Claretian news because this year 2009 they have selected Colombia as the country of special attention in Latin America. In the film and other dissemination materials appear the Claret Homes presented by Fr. Gabriel Mejía, cmf. A part of the fund that will be collected this year will go to this work. If last year it was possible to reach very close to 40 millions of Euros, now we trust that we will be able to go beyond. The theme of this year is: We seek peace.
