Summer Courses 2019 at ICL

Jun 3, 2019 | Bangalore, Institutes of Consecrated Life

Bengaluru, India. Institute of Consecrated Life (ICL) – Sanyasa has been offering one-month summer course for the consecrated persons in the month of May every year. This programme has been a real hit as the consecrated persons can have overall knowledge of the theology of consecrated life in a short span of time. This year, they arranged three summer courses: one in the month of April (Study of the Old Testament) and two more in the month of May (Study of the New Testament and Theology of Consecrated Life).

Last year, they started for the first time one-month summer Bible course in April besides their usual May course on the theology of Consecrated Life. This year, they had one in the month of April and another one in the month of May. Claretian Bible scholars Dr. George Panthalanickal, Dr. Martin George and Dr. Arul Jesu Robin were the resource persons. Altogether, there were about 30 participants for both the courses. The program was well received, and the participants were really enriched and deeply appreciated two months of intensive Bible studies.

In the month of May, they had traditional typical one month of intensive course on the theology of Consecrated Life with different resource persons — most of them being Claretians. All together, there were 78 participants from 28 different congregations. Subjects like Biblical Foundations of Consecrated Life, Re-visioning Consecrated Life from the History, Theology of Vocation, Theology of Community Life, Evangelical Counsels, Affective Maturity, Psycho Spiritual Integration, Mission in the Present Context, Christological Insights for Consecrated Life, Charism, Canonical Aspects of Consecrated Life and Family Apostolate were the topics dealt during the course. They also arranged a day of picnic to Bangalore. Indeed, the participants were greatly satisfied and appreciated immensely their effort in providing quality ongoing formation for the consecrated persons of India during summer holidays.
