The 42nd Week for Religious Life Begins

Madrid, Spain. On Tuesday, April 2nd, the Theological Institute of Religious Life, led by the Claretians of the Province of Santiago, inaugurated the 42nd National Week for Institutes of Consecrated Life.

Responding to the call of the Church in this “Year of Faith”, the chosen theme was “The Search for God. Joy in Faith in the Consecrated Life”.
The sessions began with a welcome greeting by Fr. Luis A. Gonzalo Díez, CMF, and the schedule for the week given by the Director of the Institute, Fr. Bonifacio Fernández, CMF.

Present at the opening session was Mons. Renzo Fratini, Apostolic Nuncio of Spain, who delivered a message, as well as: Bishops Jes’us Sanz and Eusebio Hernández, members of the Episcopal Commission for the Consecrated Life, D. Elías Royón, President of CONFER (Conference of the Religious of Spain), and Fr. Luis Ángel de las Heras, CMF, Claretian Provincial of the Province of Santiago.

Among the presenters for this Week were Fray José Rodríguez Carballo, Minister General of the Franciscans and President of the USG, Dr. José Cristo Rey García Paredes, CMF, and other well-known figures of religious life in the Spanish world.
