The Delegation of Northeast India in Assembly

Apr 30, 2010 | Northeast India

Northeast India. The General Assembly of the Delegation of Northeast India started last April 27. Fr. Paul Smyth, Vicar General of the Congregation presides over it.

In accordance with tradition, it started with the ceremony of lighting the candle with which the presence of Christ, Light of the world and of the Spirit of Wisdom is evoked. The Assembly had the opportunity of knowing and evaluating the reports of the persons in charge of the Organism. These reports have also served to establish a dialogue and to reflect on the action lines for the immediate future.

In the afternoon of the 28th, the Assembly received from Fr. Paul Smyth the confirmation of the Government Team, in which Father Jose Anchupankil had been reappointed as Major Superior; Fr. Joseph Mappilaparampil, as Consultor and Fr. Kuriakose Mundakattu, as Consultor-Econome.

The Assembly dedicated a good part of its time to dialoguing on a Plan of Life and Mission in this zone of India, in which this young Delegation carries on its missionary vocation.
