Roma. We would have liked to be able to inform with greater detail on the situation of our brothers of Haiti, but communications are cut for the moment. Thus has been confirmed by the Major Superior, Fr. Héctor Cuadrado, from Puerto Rico, who specifies that it has been devastating. He asserts that even at approximately at 3:00 a.m. they have felt another replica of 5 degrees in Puerto Rico. Fr. Carmelo Astiz, from Santo Domingo, in the Dominican Republic, says that Fr. Anistus will give more details as soon as he can.
Our Haitian seminarians (there are four in Santo Domingo) have also been told that if they receive news from their families or from the Claretian communities, they should inform immediately. We have two more seminarians (one in Sto. Domingo and another one in the Novitiate of Guatemala), whose families live in Puerto Príncipe. We keep this line open to any news.
Let us commend to the Lord these people who suffer one more disgrace.
