Vic, Spain. The tenth course of the “School of the Heart of Mary” began on April 2nd at the Center of Claretian Spirituality in Vic (CESC) for formators in the English language of the Congregation. Participating are 22 formators coming from 13 Provinces and Delegations, and will last until June 20th.
Upon arriving, the participants were met with the perplexing and sad news of the death of Fr. Jesús Bermejo CMF, a member of the community in Vic and one of the scheduled facilitators of the course. Needless to say, the participating formators shall enjoy the fruit of the work of Fr. P. Bermejo, through the invaluable material which is the result of his years of research.
On April 3 the course opened with a presentation by Fr. Mathew Vattamattan, CMF, General Prefect of Formation, who, together with Fr. Jesús Palacios, CMF, will be animating the entire program.
The course began with a deepening into the figure of the Formator and an understanding of his role in the Congregation. In addition, there will be visits to “Claretian places” such as the Museum and other sites in Vic. Fr. Jesudoss, Director of CESC, will be guiding the formators in the study of the writing of Claret.
On Sunday, April 7th, the participants visited the parish of Sallent where they had an opportunity to concelebrate the Eucharist with the people, which was presided over by the pastor, Fr. Antoni Costa. Later on they visited the birthplace of Father Founder.
