The Pauline Year marks the 38th National Week of Consecrated

Mar 22, 2009 | Institutes of Consecrated Life

Spain. The Theological Institute of Religious Life (ITVR) has presented the theme of the next National Week of Consecrated Life: “You are a letter of Christ” (2 Cor 3,3). The personnel of the ITVR explain that the chosen theme is based on the 24th Proposal of the last Synod of Bishops about the Word. There Consecrated Life and Word are correlated and it is stated that “ in the school of the Word consecrated life continuously rediscovers its identity and becomes an evangelica testificatio. Called to be living exegesis of the Word of God, it is in itself a Word of God with which God continues speaking to the Church and to the world.” The chosen speakers, specialists in Sacred Scripture and consecrated life, will tackle the theme from different viewpoints: The professors Carmen Bernabé, Elisa Estévez, the North American writer and theologian Regan McKenna, the Superior General of the Daughters of Saint Paul and participant in the Synod of the Word, Antonieta Bruscato, the professors Antonio Sánchez Orantos, Severiano Blanco and Toni Catalá. Jesús María Lecea (ex-President of CONFER and Superior General of the Piarists) and Aquilino Bocos (ex-Superior General of the Claretian Missionaries) will also participate.

The days will take place from April 14 to 18. The morning sessions will be in the ITVR centre and the afternoon sessions, in the Angel Herrera Hall. The Apostolic Nuncio in Spain, Mons. Manuel Monteiro, will preside over the closing Eucharist.
