Three Claretians at the SEDOS Residential Seminar 2018

Sedos Residential Seminar 1Ariccia, Italy. From April 30 to May 4, 2018, Frs. Benjitu Bareto (Catalunya), Lambert Okere (Italia), Wojciech Kobyliński (Poslka), CMFF, joined the 178 participants from 27 Congregations and of 47 countries, in attending the Sedos Residential Seminar organized by Service of Documentation and Study on Global Mission (SEDOS) held at the House of the Divine Master, Ariccia. The theme was “Youth and Mission.”

Respected speakers were invited to give their talks: Emilia Palladino on “Contemporary youth culture: Between law and the lack of it”; Bruna Zaltron, SCM on “Generated by Life to correspond to Love”; Paul Raj, FSG on “The Role and Challenges of Evangelization for the Youth in the Multicultural and Pluralistic world of today”; Michael Papenkordt on “The Evangelized will Evangelize: The Role of Lay Missionaries Today”; Paul Bednarczyck, CSC on “Learnings from Vocation Ministry in the US.”

On the last day of the seminar, Lorenzo Cardinal Baldisseri gave a special talk on “The Synod on Youth: Young People, the Faith and Vocational Discernment,” fruit of the pre-synodal meeting of the young people with Pope Francis before the Holy week. In the afternoon, before the event ended, the participants underwent the so-called “Panel of Young Religious Missionaries,” moment of sharing between the participants and express their lived experience during the days together.

SEDOS is a forum open to Institutes of Consecrated Life which commit themselves to deepening their understanding of global mission. SEDOS encourages research and disseminates information through its bulletin and website, public conferences, working groups and its annual seminar.
