Toward a new Delegation

May 20, 2011 | Cameroun, Josep Abella Batlle

Yaoundé, Cameroon. An Assembly of the Claretians who live and work in Cameroon was held in Nkolbisson on May 13th. Fr. Josep Ma Abella, CMF, Superior General of the Congregation presided over the Assembly and was assisted by Fr. Domingo Grillía CMF, General Econome, who addressed economic themes.

Fr. General thanked the Claretians for their presence and commitment to the local Church. He also explained the reasons for wanting to promote the process of integration and reorganization of the Congregation. Finally, after a period of community discernment, he asked for and received approval from the members of the Assembly to continue the consolidation of the Claretian project in Cameroon.

After an interchange of ideas (the missionary project, spirituality, personnel, formation, economy) they proposed the composition of a prayer, the need to celebrate another assembly, and create a commission to coordinate and organize the basis for the new Delegation.

The workshop concluded with a Eucharist coordinated by the students and presided over by Fr. General, with a fraternal mean following.
