Ngoya, Cameroon. To serve the Claretians of Cameroun better and upgrade the quality of services the office of the Delegation Secretariat offers to its members, a formation for Local Secretaries took place on March 21, 2022, in two different locations. In the morning, the session took place at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Theologate in Nkong/Ngoya, and in the afternoon at the Martyrs of Barbastro Philosophy Formation Centre.

Cameroun Secretaries

Delegation Secretary, Fr. Frédéric Kpoumie, CMF, made the local secretaries understand what it is to be a secretary, its mission, importance in the local community, designation, and functions. They were also taught how to prepare local archives and given the importance of having them in the house. All the sessions were based on the 1982 Code of Canon Law, the 2017 Manual of the Secretary (3rd edition), and the Claretian Directory.

For the Claretian Missionaries, the secretary’s work is not just office work, it is in itself a mission. The secretary is directly responsible for the information services of the congregation (Directory 486f – 487).
