Bengaluru, India. Sanyasa Institute of Consecrated Life held its 24th Convocation on March 23, 2026. Two students of licentiate in theology of consecrated life, 21 students of diploma in the same discipline, 2 audit students, and 23 young religious who lived a three-month intensive preparatory for perpetual profession in Forge key graduated with honors.
His Excellency Rt. Rev. Joseph Susainathan, auxiliary bishop of the archdiocese of Bangalore was the chief official of the ceremony, which began with the Votive Mass of the Holy Trinity. Rev. Fr. Sabu George, Vice Moderator of SICL and superior of the Province of Bangalore, preached the homily. In his convocation address, the bishop invited the graduates to live religious life as modelled by St. Francis of Assisi.
The event also included the award of prizes for the Diploma Toppers which went to
Sr. Jeya Arockia Anusha Packle Raj, SCC (First Prize); Sr. Queency Pereira, FHIC; Sr. Rajathi Sebastian, SCC (Second Prize); and Sr. Jeya Mounicka Mary V., SCC (Third Prize). The top two winners received the Esther Stanley Merit Award as well. His Excellency Bishop Susainathan and Fr. Sabu jointly felicitated the outgoing licentiate students: Fr. Sibi Micheal, MS and Fr. Kurella Adithya, MI. Rev. Fr. George Panthalanickal, superior of SICL, awarded the certificates to the participants of the Intensive Preparatory course. Fr. Michael Plamparambil, the institute secretary, presented the report of the academic year. The oath of fidelity to catholic faith and magisterium was administered to the graduates by Fr. Paulson Veliyannoor, director of SICL. Finally, the Vice Moderator formally and solemnly declared the academic year closed. A celebratory agape followed.
